INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE 19 YEARS

HISTORY

Houston Distributing Company traces its roots back to the early 1940’s when it represented Pearl Brewing Company of San Antonio. Joe Huggins purchased the company in 1968, when it was still a single-brewer organization selling only products from Pearl. In the early 1970’s, Houston Brewing Company became the first major market multi-brewer house in the southwest by adding products from the breweries of Lowenbrau, Pabst Brewing Company, Champale and Miller Brewing Company; by July 1978 the company became a single brewery house once again only selling Miller products. In 1986 Houston Distributing Company began to acquire the right to distribute other portfolios of quality malt beverage products, and by 1998 the company went through two major acquisitions to become the largest distributor of Miller Brewing Company products in a contiguous territory. Today, after many more acquisitions, Houston Distributing Company has a well-earned reputation for innovation and excellence, as exemplified by numerous industry awards.
